Giusti Garden Verona

What a gem for an escape from the city. Located in the Veronetta district of Verona on Via Giusti.

Privately owned by the Giusti family since 15th century. In 1406, this property was next to the Postumian Way (an ancient Roman military road constructed in 148 BC that ran across northern Italy) . The site of the present garden was used for wool dyeing, the Giusti family trade at the time.

By the 16th century, the formal gardens were laid out in the area. The Giusti family fortunes and status rose and the family became friends with the Medicis and the Habsburgs.
