Our visit to New Orleans was to take in some of the ‘cocktail culture’ and local architecture.
Starting with the Sazerac House.

A SAZERAC is known as the cocktail of New Orleans… it’s a tangled history of coffee houses, medicinal bitters, an Absinthe replacement and Cognac replaced with Rye Whisky after the phylloxera edidemic. It was a very informative tour… and we sampled 3 cocktails!

We made a visit to the Hotel Montelone [rotating] Carousel Bar

Walked Bourbon Street, Royal Street and French Quarter

Visited the Garden District

A visit to the Degas house where the artist spent a year

Miscellaneous!

From a few days ago. Have you ever heard of DEFUNIACH SPRINGS FLORIDA? There are only 2 perfectly circular natural springs in the USA and this town is proud to have one where we drove around to see the charming houses…. everyone on the street waved and said hello. The town is on the Florida Panhandle, north of Destin Beach area.

Another fun roadtrip… thanks for joining.
